A flute course for students aged 17 and over and Diploma-level adults. Hosted by Atarah Ben-Tovim MBE in her converted farmhouse / flute-shrine in the heart of Dordogne vineyards. Early booking advisable as places are limited.
A unique opportunity to spend quality time with Sam Coles, Principal Flute of Philharmonia Orchestra and former principal with Orchestre National de Bordeaux Aquitaine. He will be giving extensive morning and afternoon masterclasses on flute fundamentals and repertoire, both solo and orchestral. A renowned soloist and chamber music performer, he is, as his students at Royal Academy of Music and The Guildhall know, an inspiring teacher.
Each evening there will also be flute orchestra sessions with Atarah (former Principal Flute of RLPO) â€“ a unique chance for all to play concertos as soloist, with the other course members accompanying. Altos and bass flutes available. Arrangements of Mozart G, D, Rondo and Andante, Quantz G, HÃ¼e, Keenan, Vivaldi piccolo and Four Seasons, Brandenburgs 2, 4 and 5, Rutter Suite Antique, Bourne Carmen Variations and Chopin Rossini Variations, Doppler Pastorale hongroise and Andante and Rondo, Cimarosa 2 flutes. Also coaching in Diploma exam techniques from Dip ABRSM to FRAM (both teaching and performing). Atarah is ABRSM Rep for France.
