Location: South-west France

Dates: 30th March to 7 April 2010 (Easter vacation)

Atarah Ben-Tovim, MBE, Hon D Mus invites student flautists aged 16 upwards to this flexiflute course at her converted farmhouse home and flute museum, lost in the vineyards two kilometres from River Dordogne and only 35 minutes from cheap-flight Bergerac airport.

World-renowned teacher, international competition judge and master class specialist. Atarah was an orchestral principal with RLPO for 15 years, (she beat James Galway to the job!!) and has played every concerto in the repertoire. She was Chair of British Flute Society for 6 years and is Associated Board Representative for SW France.

What do you get?

Intensive personal coaching from Atarah at Grade 7 to Diploma-level and post-Diploma.
Detailed work on technique, orchestral repertoire, solos, finesse and chamber music. Concertos with flute orchestra accompaniment. Teaching tips, Baroque specialist coaching. Audition, exam and scholarship tips, including Diploma viva voce and written submissions. Career guidance.
Great meals in-house and local restaurants including free wine! Heated pool

Optional extras:

French Spanish and German language coaching. Demo videos recorded. French culture trips.
Advanced Clarinet or Recorder friends also welcome.

Fee:

£85 per day, including transport to/from Bergerac airport or local railway station, accommodation and all meals and wine. Bursaries possible,

How to get there?

Budget flights to Bergerac from Stansted, Southampton, Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool, Exeter and East Midlands Leeds with Ryan Air, Flybe, J2 and BMI Baby – or train via Paris and TGV to Libourne, with local connection. Book early for cheap travel.
